Internship / Residency: Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio |
Doctor Berry was originally from Brecksville Ohio, in the Cleveland area. He obtained his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in Electrical Engineering. Originally planning to do research in the biomedical engineering field, he became interested in orthopedics during medical school. He chose to go into private practice and completed a 5 year residency at Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus. Upon completion of residency, he came to Sandusky because of family, the lake, and the strength of the medical community here. After 1 year in practice, Dr Felter joined him in the practice, followed later by Drs. Wong , Olexa and Morrow. Although primarily a general orthopedic practice, Dr. Berry has a special interest in total hip and knee replacements and revisions, which comprise about 50% of his practice.
Doctor Berry remains current on joint replacement surgery including full and partial knee and hip replacement. Drs Berry Felter and Wong were the first in the State of Ohio to perform minimally invasive knee replacement surgery, well in advance of much larger centers. Dr Berry, along with his partners gives numerous talks in the community about health issues, and actively participates with the various local high school sports teams and training staffs.
Dr Berry resides in Huron, were he raised his 2 girls. He is an active private pilot with instrument and multiengine ratings. He enjoys boating in the summer, and hiking year around. Hobbies include woodworking, travel, and scuba diving.
